Coordinates were collected using a marine navigational Global Positioning System with an accuracy of about 30 to 100 feet. When vessels return to a sampling location they are sometimes unable to sample from the exact station coordinates because of local conditions or hazards. This adds further ambiguity to the sampling location. It is recommended that when using these points in a spatial analysis that an additional 60 feet be added to the accuracy estimation.
